11/04/2011 Media Conference

Johannesburg - Evangelist Angus Buchan from Greytown, who is the subject of the movie Faith like Potatoes, has begun work on his new movie with director FC Hamman.

The film, titled Angus Buchan's Ordinary People, is not a sequel to Faith like Potatoes, Hamman said on Monday at a media conference.

"It is a story of people who have been touched by Angus's sermons and how it has influenced their lives.

"The movie deals with everyday problems that all of us wrestle with at one stage."

Several well-known actors will be joining the production.

Anrich Herbst plays the role of a middle-aged Buchan in the movie. Herbst is best known for his role as Wimpie van Tonder in Orkney Snork Nie.

Human problems

Hannes Muller, former director of Egoli and the All Access production team, Jaco Muller of Erfsondes 3 and Lucky Koza of Isidingo also star in the movie.

Buchan is clearly very excited about the new movie. He said moviegoers will identify with the film and will take life lessons, which they have experienced themselves, from it.

"It's not a movie for Christians. This is a movie for people with human problems. It's so easy being a Christian on a platform, but so much harder to be it at your home between your own people.

"The movie reflects that and will therefore be special."

According to Hamman, filming begins on Tuesday and will take about six to seven weeks.
